OVERVIEW

The Community Clean-Up Initiative is an ongoing community effort led by Thorne Development in partnership with The Williams Way Foundation. Our goal is simple: help clean up neglected properties and areas throughout Pontiac and other communities while bringing people together to restore neighborhoods, strengthen communities, and make a lasting positive difference.

Our first cleanup focused on helping a Pontiac resident whose property had become overgrown with tall grass and weeds. There were also household items, scattered trash, and a large amount of accumulated debris throughout the property.

Our teams cleared the overgrown vegetation, picked up scattered trash, organized the remaining debris into one area, and greatly improved the appearance of the property. While we weren't able to remove all of the accumulated debris during this visit, we condensed everything to make future removal much easier once additional equipment and resources become available.

This effort is about more than cleaning up properties. It's about restoring pride in our neighborhoods, lending a helping hand to residents, and doing our part to beautify the communities we serve.

As this initiative continues, we'll keep looking for properties and public spaces that could use a helping hand while working to secure volunteers, equipment, resources, and community partnerships needed to expand our impact throughout Pontiac and beyond.

We believe lasting change happens when organizations, businesses, volunteers, and residents come together with one purpose: to leave our communities better than we found them. Together, we're helping build cleaner, stronger, and more beautiful communities for generations to come.
